Who this covers
This policy describes Buni, the iPhone app for raffia, crochet, and woven-bag craft. It applies to the profile, Home and Discover, search, challenges, yarn preferences, crafting goals, messages, video calls, reports, settings, AI Studio, and Buni Coins. It is written to be read with the Terms of Service and the User License Agreement.
Buni is not an advertising product. We do not run third-party ads, and we do not build advertising profiles.
Information by feature
If you never use a feature, we do not need its data. Optional fields can be left blank.

AI Studio, in practice
When you tap generate, our own model — researched, trained, and deployed by us — uses the image and the style you picked to produce a bag-style render and related notes such as silhouette, gauge, stitch texture, or a stitch chart. That processing is the feature. We do not add a third-party model behind it.
We do not use your private messages, call audio or video, or AI Studio photos to train models. We do not use them for advertising. We keep them only as needed to show you the result, to restore your AI Studio pieces on your account, and to handle a report or a legal duty. Photos and generated images are protected with the same care as the rest of your account content: access is limited to operating the feature, and we do not publish them except as you choose to share.
A render can be wrong. It is a reference, not proof of a finished handmade object. The Terms of Service explain how generations spend Buni Coins.
What we do not do
- We do not sell, rent, or trade personal information.
- We do not share personal information with unrelated third parties, data brokers, or advertisers.
- We do not use third-party AI model services.
- We do not collect contacts, precise location, health data, or payment card numbers.
- We do not read messages or calls in order to market to you. We may look at content you report, or that is reported, to enforce the terms.
Other people can see content you place in a public area of the app, such as a Discover post, a public profile field, a comment, or a challenge entry. They cannot see your private messages unless you send those messages to them. Follow, like, and save activity may be visible in the way the screen shows it.
Apple is the seller of record for an in-app coin pack. When you buy, Apple processes the payment under Apple’s terms. That is a purchase you start, not a sale of your profile or photos. We receive what we need to know the purchase succeeded and to add coins to your Buni account.
Permissions on the device
iOS asks before the app can use the camera, photo library, microphone, or notifications. Camera and photo access are for a picture you choose to upload, including AI Studio and images you attach in chat. Microphone and camera for a call are used only for that call. Notifications are optional. You can revoke a permission in iOS Settings; the related feature then cannot run until you allow it again.
How long we keep it
We keep account information and content while your account is open and the feature still needs it. When you delete the account, we delete the profile, patterns, and coin balance from active use. Deletion is permanent, and unused coins are not returned as cash. We may retain a limited record of a completed Apple purchase, a safety report, or a legal claim for as long as the record is actually needed, and then delete or de-identify it. Backups, if any, cycle out on their ordinary schedule.
Your rights
We will honor a request when we can verify it relates to your account and the law does not require us to keep the information. We respond within a reasonable time.
Security
We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards appropriate to a craft community app, including limiting access to photos, messages, and account data to what operating the service requires, and protecting transmissions the platform supports with encryption in transit. No method of storage or transmission is perfectly secure. Please protect your device and Apple ID. If you believe your account was accessed without permission, email us.
Children
Buni is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child under 13 has an account, email support@buni.site and we will delete it.
Changes
If this policy changes, we will update the Last Updated date on this page. Continued use after the effective date of a change means you accept the updated policy for information processed from that date. Where a law requires consent for a new use, we will ask.
Questions
Do you sell my photos or messages?
No. We do not sell, rent, or trade personal information, and we do not share it with unrelated third parties.
Which AI company processes my bag photo?
None. The model is ours: we develop it, train it, and run it. Your photo or sketch is processed only to make the render you asked for.
Do you train on my chats or Studio photos?
No. Private messages, call media, and AI Studio photos are not used to train models.
What does Apple receive?
If you buy Buni Coins, Apple processes that purchase on your Apple ID. We do not receive your card number. If you never buy coins, there is no purchase to process.
