By creating a profile, browsing the community, sending a message, starting a call, generating a style in AI Studio, or buying Buni Coins, you agree to these Terms of Service, the Privacy Policy, and the User License Agreement. If you do not agree, do not use Buni.
01The agreement
These Terms of Service are a contract between you and Buni for the Buni mobile application and the features we make available in it. They cover how the community works, what you may post, how AI Studio and Buni Coins operate, and what happens if an account is closed.
The User License Agreement is the copyright license for the app software. The Privacy Policy explains what information the features actually use. If a sentence in one document conflicts with another on privacy, the Privacy Policy controls for personal information. If they conflict on the software license, the User License Agreement controls.
We may update these terms when the product changes. If we do, we will change the Last Updated date above. If you keep using Buni after the new terms take effect, the updated terms apply. If you do not accept an update, stop using the app and delete your account.
02What Buni is
Buni is a craft studio for raffia, crochet, and woven bags. Depending on what is available in your version of the app, you can:
- browse Home and Discover, including patterns, weekly challenges, trending weaves, and community posts;
- search, filter, follow crafters, like, comment, save, and share;
- open pattern details such as yarn, hook, stitch, difficulty, and time;
- keep a profile with a display name, handle, bio, optional location text, photo, works, saved pieces, and AI Studio results;
- set yarn preferences and crafting goals;
- message other people and place video calls;
- upload or photograph a tote, shoulder bag, clutch, or sketch in AI Studio, choose a style, and spend Buni Coins to generate a bag-style render and related craft notes;
- buy consumable Buni Coins, report content, manage notification preferences, log out, and delete your account.
Buni does not sell yarn, kits, or finished bags. Pattern text, stitch charts, and AI renders are references for your own making. A crafter level or “Pro Crafter” mark shown in the app is an in-app status, not a separate paid membership.
Features may be added, paused, or removed. Some controls may be labeled as unavailable until they ship. We do not promise that every screen, challenge, or style preset will remain unchanged.
03Eligibility and accounts
You must be at least 13 years old, or the minimum age required where you live if that age is higher, and able to form a binding contract. Buni is not directed to children.
You are responsible for the accuracy of the name, handle, bio, and location text you choose to show, and for activity under your account. Do not create an account for someone else without authority, and do not impersonate another crafter.
Account and security tools shown in Settings, including sign-out and deletion, are part of your control over the profile. Keep your device passcode and Apple ID secure. We may refuse, reclaim, or change a handle that infringes someone’s rights, misleads others, or is needed to operate the service.
04Your content and the community
You keep ownership of the photos, captions, comments, pattern notes, challenge entries, and other material you submit (“Your Content”), subject to the license below and to rights you do not own, such as another artisan’s pattern.
You grant Buni a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, display, and distribute Your Content only as needed to operate Buni: to show it to people according to the visibility you use, to deliver messages you send, to run a generation you request, and to investigate a report. This license ends when Your Content is deleted from active use, except for copies we must keep for a short time for safety, legal, or backup reasons, and except for content other people have already lawfully shared onward where the product allows sharing.
You confirm that you have the rights to post Your Content, that it does not violate these terms, and that a public post may be seen by other people using Discover, a profile, a challenge, or a share action. Private messages are described in the next section. Do not post another person’s private photo or pattern without permission.
Likes, follows, comments, and saves are part of the community record associated with your profile. Challenge entries you submit may be shown with the challenge they belong to.
05Messages and video calls
Messaging lets you exchange text and photos with another person in Buni. You are responsible for what you send. Do not use messages to harass, scam, or push people to off-app purchases of counterfeit kits or unrelated goods.
Video calls use the camera and microphone only after you grant those permissions and only for a call you start. If permission is denied, the call does not continue. Mute, camera flip, and speaker controls are not active while a call is still connecting. If the other person does not answer, the call ends. Buni does not offer call recording as a feature, and you must not record a call unless everyone on the call has agreed and the law allows it.
06AI Studio
AI Studio generates bag-style images and related craft notes, such as silhouette, yarn gauge, stitch texture, and a stitch-count chart, from a photo or sketch you provide and a style and format you select (for example tote, shoulder, or clutch).
The models that perform this generation are developed by us, trained by us, and deployed by us. Buni does not use a third-party AI model service to generate those results. We process only the photo or sketch, the format, the style, and the account context needed to run the request and charge the Buni Coins shown before you confirm. We do not collect information that is unrelated to this feature in order to run it.
Outputs are visual and instructional references. They can be incomplete or wrong about gauge, yardage, structure, or color. They are not a promise that a physical bag will match the image, and they are not a professional textile specification. You decide whether a result is safe and suitable to make. Do not present an AI render as a photograph of a finished handmade object. If you share a generated image, label it as generated.
A generation spends the number of Buni Coins shown on the control (for example a bag-style generation). Failed attempts that never produce a result should not permanently spend coins; if a charge and a failure disagree, contact support@buni.site and we will correct the balance when we can confirm the error.
You may use a result for your personal crafting. You do not receive ownership of the model, the style presets, or the app. If your input infringes someone else’s pattern or photo, the output does not make that use lawful. We may refuse a generation that asks for unlawful or abusive imagery.
07Buni Coins and Apple purchases
Buni Coins are consumable virtual credits used only inside Buni, including AI Studio generation and yarn-spec features. The cost of an action is shown before you confirm it. Coins have no cash value, are not a stored-value account or a bank balance, and cannot be redeemed for money, transferred, or sold.
Optional coin packs are in-app purchases processed by Apple and charged to your Apple ID at confirmation, at the price displayed in the app. Buni does not offer an auto-renewing subscription. We do not receive your payment card number. Apple’s payment terms and refund rules apply to the charge. Because coins are consumable and are tied to your Buni account, unused coins are generally not refundable once delivered, except where Apple or applicable law requires a refund.
Coins do not expire while your account remains open. If you delete your account, the remaining balance is forfeited and is not restored. We may correct a balance that was granted by error, fraud, or a failed purchase. Prices and pack sizes shown in the Coin Store may change for future purchases; a change does not alter coins already delivered.
08Prohibited conduct
You may not:
- copy another artisan’s pattern, paid chart, or stitch schematic and present it as your own;
- present factory or commercial goods as handmade Buni craft, or hide that an image is an AI render;
- scam, spam, or solicit counterfeit kits, suspicious payments, or unrelated affiliate schemes;
- harass, threaten, or post hateful or sexually explicit non-craft material;
- upload a photo of someone else, or of a child, without the right to do so;
- probe, disrupt, or overload the app or our systems, or attempt to extract the model or other people’s private messages;
- buy, sell, or gift Buni Coins or accounts outside the app;
- use Buni to violate the law or someone else’s intellectual property.
09Intellectual property
The Buni name, interface, style presets, pattern library we provide, models, and software are owned by Buni or its licensors and are licensed, not sold, under the User License Agreement. Your Content stays yours, subject to the license in section 04.
Feedback you choose to send us may be used to improve Buni without obligation to you. Community names and marks of other crafters remain theirs.
10Reports and enforcement
You can report content for intellectual-property or pattern theft, misleading handmade claims, scams or spam, harassment or inappropriate content, unlabeled AI generation, or another craft discrepancy. Send a clear description. We may remove content, limit features, or suspend an account when we believe these terms were broken or the law requires it. We are not obliged to monitor every post, and we do not guarantee a particular outcome or timeline.
If you believe something on Buni infringes your copyright or pattern rights, email support@buni.site with the work, the location in the app, and a statement that you are the rights holder or authorized to act. We may also act on a valid legal request.
11Disclaimers
Buni is provided “as is” and “as available.” To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, quiet enjoyment, and non-infringement, and we do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, that a generation will match a physical bag, or that yarn amounts, stitch counts, or challenge instructions will be error-free.
Craft work involves tools, dyes, and materials. You are responsible for safe making. Nothing in the app is professional engineering, medical, or financial advice. Other people’s posts are their own, and we are not a party to arrangements you make with them outside the app.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain disclaimers. In those places, the disclaimers apply only as far as the law allows, and you keep any rights that cannot be waived.
12Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Buni and its operators will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost goodwill, lost Content, or the cost of substitute materials, even if we were advised of the possibility.
Our total liability for a claim arising out of Buni or these terms will not exceed the amount you paid Apple for Buni Coins in the twelve months before the claim, or fifty U.S. dollars if you paid nothing, whichever is greater. This cap does not limit liability that cannot legally be limited, including liability for fraud or for death or personal injury caused by negligence where such a limit is prohibited.
You will use reasonable efforts to resolve a dispute by emailing support@buni.site before filing a claim. These terms are governed by applicable law, except that mandatory consumer protections where you live still apply. Courts in your place of residence may have non-waivable jurisdiction.
13Suspension, termination, and deletion
You may stop using Buni at any time. Deleting the account, where the control is available in Settings, permanently removes the profile, patterns, and coin balance. That deletion cannot be undone, and coins are not refunded merely because the account was deleted.
We may suspend or terminate access if you materially break these terms, if we must do so to comply with law, or if we discontinue the service. Where reasonable, we will tell you. Sections that should survive — including ownership, licenses already granted for content still held as allowed above, disclaimers, liability limits, and contact — survive termination.
